Hi Hart Beat! I may be in heaven in Costa Rica with my mom right now but I still wanted to send you a little note on one of my favorite days, Valentine’s Day. While I am an adamant fan of the holiday, I know that this can be a hard day for lots of people. On a day full of love when you don’t have a special someone to share it with it’s easy to feel extra isolated and alone. But guess what Hart Beat, it doesn’t have to be that way! I’m a supporter of taking back Valentine’s Day from Hallmark and romantic comedies and making it a day for ourselves. Text your best friend, tell them you love them. Call your mom and your dad and ask them to be your Valentine. Or, just buy a pint of ice cream and watch the Bachelor tonight. Honestly, all these ideas sound amazing to me right now.
For those of you looking for a little Valentine’s pick me up here are four things to do right now.
- Follow Brené Brown, Cheryl Strayed, Mindy Kaling or another one of your favorite female writers or artists for some daily inspiration to flood your feed this year.
