Here on Hart Beat I’ve shared many a secret music confession to all you readers. Well, today I have another one for you. Please note before you read any further, this is a very bizarre story. Here goes, when I was growing up back in the good old 90’s I wasn’t your normal kid. Instead of listening to Spice Girls and Backstreet Boys like most of my friends, I spent my days and nights listening to the one and only Diana Ross and The Supremes. No joke, they’re greatest hits collection was the first CD I ever bought.
The sad part of this story is before I went to Bates and was introduced to the annual 90’s dance I knew none of the words to any of the classic hits from our childhood. The amazing part is that ever since I was six I’ve been able to sing along to any Diana Ross or Supreme song. Even today, if “Reflections” comes on, or even “I Hear a Symphony” I’ll be there singing along.
So, in honor of Florence, Mary and Diana, I give to you the ever classic and ever amazing “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.”
