Hannah goes to Spain

Ha… gotcha there, didn’t I? Actually Hannah is going to Spain, my roommate Hannah, and she leaves tomorrow! Ah! Gene! I just spend the last hour talking her ear off about all the places she has to go when she gets to Madrid. I even drew her a Hannah Hart Beat appropriate map.

I’m so jealous. Good thing my brother is going to Barcelona this summer and I’m going to visit both him and my favorite city while he’s there. What are you doing in July? Wanna come?

Picture from two years ago.
The most beautiful city.
And, a little late post surprise. Here’s a picture of the map of Madrid I drew for Hannah… it’s not to scale but, the important things are there (like la mallorquina and red).

Flamenco in Brooklyn

Hi Hart Beat. What are you doing tonight? Last Friday night was pretty great and I’m hoping to repeat it with this event here. The last time I saw flamenco live was in Granada two years ago. My friends and I were in this little cave on the side of the hill where the show took place. It was very intimate and I wonder how tonights event will compare.

I really can’t believe it’s March 1st today. I know Madonna tells us that time goes by so slowly but, sometimes I’m not so sure.

Friday night in Williamsburg

Good morning Hart Beat. How was your Friday night? My roommate Hannah and I had a fun time in Williamsburg and I wanted to share some pictures with you all out there in the internet world. My amazing friend M. from study abroad now lives on the lower east side with a good friend and last night her roommate Morgan preformed her senior year dance piece at Public Assembly. I had seen her piece, “Last Chance for Bronze,” preformed by Morgan and others at Conn College last spring and I was so excited to hear that she was preforming it again in the city.

The piece is beautiful and emotional and Morgan preforms it with such talent that I was honored to see it again. I didn’t have my camera on my but here are some pictures I snapped on my iphone. Thank you so much Morgan for the show!

P.S. Then Hannah and I stumbled into a Rod and Gun meeting/concert/apartment party. I was just like being back in Maine at Bates. That with a little Bass Pro Shop thrown into the mix. Oh Brooklyn, I love you.

Bike dreams

Hey Hart Beat. I’ve been having so many vivid dreams lately. I mean, if you know me than you know vivid dreams are nothing new but, I’ve been really shocked lately in the intensity I’ve been experiencing  the past couple nights. In my dream last night I found a new bike tucked in the back of my Brooklyn apartment closet and it’s had me thinking of bikes all day. Brooklyn has a huge bike scene (which I love, it reminds me of being back in Europe) and I ride my bike (featured above) all over the neighborhood. This summer I really want to start biking to work in Chelsea Market. What do you think, Hart Beat? You bike much?

More room inspiration

I have one blank space left in my apartment room so I’ve been trolling pinterest for some ideas. What do you think Hart Beat?

Vintage inspiration: The 40s

And we’re moving on in the vintage inspiration world! I loved looking at pictures of the 20s and 30s but I have to be honest Hart Beat, the 40s is my favorite so far. I love the attitude of all of these women. They’re so proud of their beauty! And the prints! Holy mackerel, as Bob Horne would say. What do you think Hart Beat?
