The loved one

Oh Hart Beat, I’m so sorry for leaving you out on your lonesome for the past few days. One of my best friends from Bates and amazing Colorado blogger Leah came to stay for the weekend. To ask of your forgiveness let’s look through some beautiful intimates that I found from a new (to me anyway) company this afternoon.

I was introduced to The Loved One by my favorite Mangiliman sisters and now I can’t stop thinking about the brand. The Loved One was founded in 2009 by Elvia Lahman and Hannah Metz as a vintage wholesale business. Now the design their own line of intimates and all I can say is I want them all. If you want more images you can look through the Lingerie Lookbook from SS 11 here.

The Agony of Love. (That name!!)
The How To Make A Doll gelmart.

The pieces originally sold at Dalaga.
For more intimates check this out and one of my other favorite brands Uye Surana.

Wolverine 1000 Mile by Samantha Pleet

Oh hey there Hart Beat, do I have the most beautiful collection to share with you today. It’s been a while since any shoes have taken center stage on the blog and I am so proud to share with you the Wolverine 1000 Mile line by Samantha Pleet.

The Bonny boot in tan/black and black.
(My babies on the left there.)
It’s always a dangerous move when I walk into my favorite shoe store in my neighborhood and last week was no different. As soon as I walked in I feel head over heels (HA) for a pair of Wolverine boots. I had never given the brand a shot before, as I am a tried and true Frye girl, but seeing those tan and black boots with the perfect heel stopped me in my tracks. And, oh sweet baby Hart Beat, I am never going back.
This particular collection of Wolverine’s was designed by New York City designer Samantha Pleet. At the ripe old age of 33 Pleet has created a body of work to rival any of her contemporaries and superiors. Her stockiest include stores from Brooklyn to as far flung as Texas, Australia, Turkey and Japan. Pleet’s studio is located in Williamsburg in Brooklyn and grew up in the countryside of Pennsylvania and this collection of boots truly feels like a beautiful combination of city and country. Being a mix of the two myself I find every pair of boots the kind of design that I’ve been wanting my whole life.

L.A. Jeweler, Devon Pavlovits

One of my favorite things to do in this city is stopping in so many of the beautiful small boutiques and seeing the designers that they carry. I love talking to the owners and sales associates about what they are carrying and what it’s like to run a store. Seeing as now I work literally down the block from my apartment I stopped into a boutique called Raised By Wolves near my apartment the other night and found pieces by the amazing artist Devon Pavlovits.

Devon Pavlovits reminds me so much of the Sowthwest States for some reason, even though I’ve never been there. Devon is based in Los Angeles and makes all of her work in her studio there (pictured bellow). Even though I can go down the street to choose one of the delecate beaded bracelets, I would love to take a trip out to California to visit her studio and she how she works. Want to take a trip with me, Hart Beat?

Prairie Clothing Company

Hi Hart Beat. Happy Saturday! I hope all of you lovelies are staying warm and toasty wherever you are. I took a wonderful walk this morning, as Frances McDormand says, “And it’s such a beautiful day.“Anyway, let’s move on to better and warmer things.

A few days ago I stumbled on the beautiful photo bellow on my regular Pinterest roundup. What I didn’t know is that the dress is designed and hand-made by a fellow Berkshire County resident. Jeni Leigh, the amazing woman behind all the dresses featured here, lives just across the NY State border from where I grow up and works as a French teacher at the local private school in the area. After studying her Etsy page and blog, I am now such a huge fan that next time I go home I’m going to try to meet with her and talk about the Prairie Clothing Company.

Odette

My idea of the perfect dress is one that is sexy yet classy and not overly provocative. A woman can wake up, put on a PCC dress and boots, play with her horses and then change her shoes and add some pearls and go on a date.

My god, as soon as I get Aquarius Made up and running this is the kind of artist I want to represent. Not only do I love every single one of Jeni Leigh’s dresses but the photographs featured on her Etsy store are equally breathtaking. The poses are so natural and refreshing and I love that they are all taken in the county I grew up in. What do you think, Hart Beat? What is your favorite dress in the collection?

I like subtle sensuality. And that’s what this line is.

Collette

Amandine

Eloise
Sylvie
Marjorie
Henriette
All I can think about when I see these dresses in this photo are Elizabeth and Jane Bennet frolicking through the English countryside.  I want in.
Thanks Rural Intelligence for the great article featuring Jeni Leigh. For more information visit the designers blog here.

What I (wish I) wore

Oh hey there Hart Beat. What are you doing this lovely Tuesday night? I’m catching up on some things in my apartment and thought I would share some outfit dreams I’ve been having lately. This is bad news bears, Hart Beat. I really shouldn’t want or need any more clothes… Alternatively, I think I need to start dreaming in more color and less in neutral tones.
