Heyyyy Hart Beat. It’s supposed to SNOW IN BROOKLYN TODAY. Just, no. It’s April 9th. Brooklyn needs to think about what it’s about to do and change direction. To forget about this incoming winter weather, I thought I’d share a few songs that I’ve been listening to a lot lately. They’re all on Spotify so if you want these plus all the other songs I’ve recommended over the years, check out the official Hannah Hart Beat playlist on Spotify.
I know “Famous” by Kanye on his latest album The Life of Pablo is controversial. I even hate the line at the beginning when he says something blatantly untrue about our girl Taylor Swift. (Sorry Kanye but you did not make Miss Swift famous.) That line aside, this song is perfect in my opinion. I mean, the entire album is amazing but between Rihanna’s rift, the Nina Simone song inclusion and the Bom Bom Bom bit at the end, I can’t get enough of this song. If you haven’t yet, just listen to The Life of Pablo (I mean, it’s on Spotify now).
I don’t know how “Hands Down” or The Greeting Committee came into my life (Spotify Discovery maybe?) but I can’t get enough. It’s a #typical Hart Beat song about love with a strong indie vibe but whatever, female singers rule my world. “Baby, you’re hands down the best thing about me.” 💞💞💞
Bless Willie Nelson and all the feelings he’s brought to me. A few weeks ago riding the R train home some guy was playing guitar on the train and when he started playing “Funny How Time Slips Away” I almost stood up and asked the stranger next to me to dance. If I ever did Karaoke, other than Madonna, this is the song I would sing. I just can’t with the lyrics. “How’s your new love? I hope that he’s doin fine. I heard you told him, that you’d love him till the end of time. Now, that’s the same thing that you told me seems like just the other day. Gee, ain’t it funny, how time slips away.” You like, Hart Beat?
