Hart Beat, a history

Hey Hart Beat. I put this playlist together a while ago and now think it’s time to finally share it with all of you. Pretty much what this playlist is a compilation of all (most) of the songs that I’ve shared with you hear on Hart Beat. Or songs to you, if you will. It’s kind of embarrassing going through the whole list, at least for me. I’ve always thought of mixes as journal entry’s and this here is one giant, three year journal entry.

This goes all the way back to when I first started writing, through some awkward times, some sad and desperate times, some pretentious times, to stressful times, all the way to today. I hope you get a kick out of it as much as I do, Hart Beat. And it’s nice, at least I think it’s nice, having all these romantic songs in one place. As Cameron Crowe writes for Almost Famous, “Music, you know true music, it chooses you. It lives in your car, or alone, listening to your headphones — you know, with the vast, scenic bridges and angelic choirs in your brain.” Chalk it twice to pretentious times.

And tonight, the newest edition to the Hart Beat singing family. A new release from The Civil Wars album.
