A surprise for tomorrow

Pinned Image

Hey Hart Best. How’s your Thursday going? I have been having so much fun today at work on my roommate H.’s iPad. Now I desperately want one. I’ve also been really happy with last nights song discovery. What did you think of it Hart Beat?

I can’t believe that tomorrow is February first. This means that I’ve been living in Brooklyn for four months and its been one year since I wrote my favorite things valentines day countdown. I was thinking and thinking of what to write about for this years valentines day countdown and I’ve finally thought of I something really good! I won’t ruin the surprise today but be sure to check in tomorrow for the unveiling of something amazingly romantic and Hannah hart beat esq.

You excited Hart Beat? I know I am…

I make the same mistakes

Hi Hart Beat. I just heard this song and wanted to share it with you. Since romantic duets are usually my favorites, I’m obsessed. Now I know what I’ll be doing for the next hour, listening to this song on repeat and finishing my story. It feels so romantic tonight out in Greenpoint with the fog rolling in over the Manhattan skyline. Happy Wednesday, Hart Beat.

Ocean smell

I was walking by the Hudson river earlier today with my boss and for a quick minute I had this overwhelmingly strong smell of ocean water. It made me miss Maine and summer so much. The good news is one, I can hear tugboat sounds from my bedroom in Brooklyn that remind me of being on the north coast and two, in ten days (yikes) I’m going to be seeing big blue with my own little green eye.

All I want

Hola Hart Beat. How was your Sunday? I was working all day down in Williamsburg and I’m really happy right now to be back in my apartment, awaiting this weeks episode of “Downton Abbey.” My good friend Iz shared this song and video with me yesterday and I immediately wanted to share it with you all. Have you heard this song? The video and song is amazing. The video really reminded me of this short here, both of them break my heart. So up Hart Beat’s alley, right? Thanks Iz!

All I want is nothing more
to hear you knocking at my door
’cause if I could see your face once more
I could die as a happy man I’m sure

Como agua

My favorite boutique in the world, Como agua de mayo, recently published it’s pictures for their spring 2013 line. I love these beautiful pictures of Barcelona, they remind me so much of being in the romantic city. I’m really looking forward to February and the romance of spring. What do you think, Hart Beat? Have you ever been to this store? Any romantic spring ideas?

Girl from the north country

Last night my amazing friend M. and I saw the movie “Silver Linings Playlist” at the Angelika. I had wanted to see the movie since it came out and I absolutely loved it. One of my favorite parts was a scene in which Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence were sitting listening to this song here. The original Bob Dylan version of this song is one of my favorites of all time but I had never heard the version of Bob and Johnny Cash singing together. This duet is making my day, Hart Beat.

If you’re traveling in the north country fair
Where the winds hit heavy on the borderline
Remember me to one who lives there
She once was the true love of mine

Wes Anderson date

The other day was my roommate G.’s birthday and to celebrate, the two of us went to this amazing event at a place close by to our apartment. Videology on South 1st in Williamsburg is this super cool bar/video rental place/screening room. They have all these events where they project movies (usually cult favorites) in their back room for free and let everyone who shows up drink and watch.

This past Tuesday was Wes Anderson Bingo night and so G. and I happily braved the cold to watch “Moonrise Kingdom.” I had seen this movie when I was visiting Madrid over the summer, and even though it was really fun to see dubbed in Spanish sitting next to a group of Señoras, Bill Murray, Francis McDormand and the rest of the crew really aren’t that funny without their original voices. This time it was great to see it in english, and in Brooklyn.

“We’re in love. We just want to be together.
What’s wrong with that?”

True love, my soulmate (Part III): Before Midnight

I’m almost too excited to type, Hart Beat. One of my favorite blogs just wrote about the coming third installment to Julie Delpy and Ethan Hawke’s “Before Sunset” movies. The first and the second movies have both had their time in the sun on Hart Beat, and this past year my favorite brother bought me the screenplay for both books from the bookstore in Paris where the second movie begins. Let’s just say that I’m a major fan.

I nearly had a panic attack of happiness when I logged onto Facebook and saw that one of my best friends had posted this on my wall. Apparently, according to this Slate article (don’t even go there, there are spoilers that I refuse to read), the movie premiered at Sundance and has an expected release date of September. Unfortunately (fortunately since I wouldn’t do anything but watch the trailer or repeat), there is no trailer for the coming “Before Midnight.” The only information I’ve been able to glean is that the movie is set in the same conversation style, this time in Greece, and that Julie Delpy looks more beautiful than ever. I can’t wait to re-watch the movies tonight.

Via Jo, thanks for making my day girl.
P.S. If you, like me, are now just bursting with happiness that this movie is coming soon, enjoy this song that Julie Delpy sings and is featured in “Before Sunrise” (aka my favorite movie of all time and my life for a time being. Hopeless romantic Hannah over here.
Let’s not fool ourselves in vain,
this far away trip will give us pain
We’ll have to be strong to keep our love
from going wrong
Distance will make us cold,
even put our love on hold
But soon we’ll meet again
and soon it’s be bright at noon again
