Jolene and brooklyn

Today was one of my favorite days in Brooklyn so far. This morning, G. and I met some friends at an amazing brunch place called The Manhattan Inn in our neighborhood. The food was amazing and they were having this special of free punch with brunch (oh so clevah right?). Anyway, R. and another friend A. that’s staying with us looking for an apartment all wandered around Williamsburg after the punch and brunch combo. It was a beautiful day and Brooklyn was lovely by the water. I did a lot of shopping too, got some cowboy boots, a Willie Nelson record with this song on the B-side and these two amazing looking books. (One takes place in Madrid!)

Anyway, now I’m siting in my apartment while G. plays me beautiful music on her guitar. One song that I’ve been requesting a lot lately has been “Jolene” by Dolly Parton. Here’s an amazing version sung by Laura Marling and Mumford & Sons. (Of course though, G. sings it better.)
